4A / Near Mint grade balls have slight imperfections, similar to a new ball after a few holes. They may have scuff marks and minor cosmetic blemishes but do not affect flight characteristics.

3A / Good grade balls are very playable and in good condition, similar to a new ball after 9 holes. They may have surface blemishes and slight scuffs but still perform well.

2A / Hit Away grade balls are cosmetically challenged with major blemishes, discoloration, and potential cuts. These are not recommended for actual gameplay but are great for practice.
